BACK IN ROMA.

We arrived in Rome yesterday afternoon and spent the afternoon at the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain.

The following day... Inside the Colosseum.

cool photo of the inside of the colosseum, i have never seen the inside before. looks like a hot day! how are you guys holding up with the heat? is it just dry or humid as well?

hey Andrew,

The colosseum was great inside. What you see in the photo is actually the network of passageways and rooms under the colosseum which was covered up with a wooden floor. The underground network allows lions and other beast (to be slauthered by the gladiators) to be raised up through the trap doors on the flooring for effect. The heat here is slightly humid than to the ones we are used to in Australia but its nothing like what you get in tropical countries so its not too bad.
